With the Festival season fast approaching, it’s time to start thinking about the essential items and must have accessories to make your time at one of this summer’s big events an even better party. If you are lucky enough to have tickets for Glastonbury, V Festival or any other of this summer’s big festivals then hopefully this little guide will give you some inspiration and help you decide what fashion accessories to choose to complete your look. At the same time there are some really cool practical items out there which you are going to need especially if you are staying the night or even weekend.
1. Hunter Wellies http://www.hunter-boot.com/festivals-wellies/women
Hunter Wellies are the daddy ofall Wellington boots and this range specifically for Festivals are great. Loads of colours and styles to choose from, some with buckles, some with coloured soles etc. And don’t forget the Woolly Cuff Socks to complete the look. If the last time I went to a festival is anything to go by then the Poncho at the bottom of their page might come in very handy too!

2. Classic Ramones T-Shirt http://www.sugarbullets.co.uk/-p-1891.html?osCsid=01esrvdblb6s1a60ui6etun1u2
I love the Ramones and this classic t-shirt wouldn’t look out of place at any festival, the only downside is that there might be a few other people wearing something similar. But if like me you are a fan of the Ramones then at the very least it would be the perfect thing to crash out in.
You can’t go wrong with a pair of Denim Shorts (so long as the weather is good!) and they go with pretty much any kind of top and also look great with a pair of Hunter Wellies!
4. Peace Necklace from Your Fashion Jewellery http://www.yourfashionjewellery.com/costume-jewellery/fashion_necklaces/page/2/
The famous peace sign has always been a favourite for Music Festivals whether on a t-shirt or item of Jewellery. I especially like these as they are so different and funky. The Peace sign pendant itself is beautifully decorated with stones and flowers to give it that extra hippy/summer of love look. There are a few different colours to choose from and are a great way to accessorize your festival outfit.

5. Tents and other essentials http://www.onestopfestival.com/festival-tents-c-35.html?osCsid=1d17abde9b7a335b2fdfbc960a432a7e
The One stop festival website is the perfect place to get a decent tent and other bits like folding chairs and sleeping bags and other essentials. They seem to be reasonably priced and have plenty to choose from. While you’re there check out the Sheewee. Amazing what they think of these days, haven’t tried it myself so comment if it really works or not! Lol
6.Crash and Burn http://www.shopcrashandburn.com/shop/products.cfm?prodcat=1&maincat=1
And finally if you don’t mind ordering from America then this site has some great tops, Tees and Tanks which wouldn’t look out of place at any Music festival.
So to anyone reading this that is going to a music festival in 2012 then I hope you like some of the items mentioned in this post and also hope you have a wicked time seeing some of the country’s biggest acts. The Stone Roses and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying birds at the V festival being my personal pick of the bunch!
Feel free to leave your comments and ideas x
With the London Olympics only a few months away, it’s time to start thinking about how you can show your support for Team GB. What better way than to proudly show the nations colours of Red, White and Blue.
Soon you will not be able to drive down a street without seeing the Union Jack Flag hanging in someone’s window or fluttering away on their car, but fashion conscious British women out there will want to do that little bit extra to show their support.
Here are a few ideas which will help you find the perfect accessory for this year’s biggest event.
If clothes are your thing then Next have a great range for the Olympics. Choose from many different t-shirts and hoodies sporting the Union Jack. These are our favourites:

If Jewellery or more specifically the current trend of Shamballa Bracelets is your thing then Yourfashionjewellery.com have the perfect Union Jack Shamballa Bracelet, these come in the traditional Red, White and Blue or if you are a bit of a girly girl and like all things pink come in a beautiful pink version. The best thing about these is that the matching Union Jack Shamballa Earrings are available in both colours so you can go for the complete look!

These leggings are just gorgeous and would go with any of the previously mentioned items. I am pretty sure these were
available for the Royal Wedding last year and it’s great they are back for the London Olympics and Jubilee!
If Handbags are more your thing then there are plenty of designers and high street stores embracing the Union Jack this year so you will be spoilt for choice!
So come on everyone let’s show our support for Team GB at the London 2012 Olympics by wearing the red, white and blue of Great Britain and hope the athletes bring home the gold!
It’s February and still eerily dark outside but that’s no excuse for not getting your bling on! Ok so you’ve over indulged over the festive season and you’re still paying off the debt that is your Christmas present spending almost two months later. Ah the memories though, not so great when a glass of red wine was spilt down your ‘all eyes on me’ top in a boozy ‘accident’ at the work do by your boss who you secretly hate…but hey apart from that it was fun wasn’t it?
During these dreary months fashion is the thing we turn to for help (as if it ever left us) and she does her bit to cheer us up. With the new season fashion hitting the catwalk it feels like summer already! For the past year trends on the catwalk have experimented with ‘big and bold’ when it comes to statement jewellery, a good thing too just look at what our Celebrity Style inspiration has been…
Lady Gaga the Mother Monster herself with garish accessories, who could forget the oversized structured shoulder pads and smoking cigarette shades? Then Jessie J’s boyish blunt bob, spiky lips and wristbands to match-the knuckleduster ring just pushed me over the edge. Katy Perry’s totally fab big frizzy hair and retro 1980’s neon pink and yellow plastic earrings, finished off with braces! All these images are so deeply ingrained into the public consciousness. Popular jewellery has become the accessory that screams like a naughty school child who just won’t shut up in class. Gone are the ‘goody two shoes’ of jewels, the silent and minuscule pendant from a swish jewellers in London costing this year’s salary.
1980’s…Heck we can now even go back to 1970’s floral festival head wraps (speaking of the 1970’s have you noticed just how many young men are sporting long hair and beards ala Fleetwood Mac or is that just me?). Think Retro, vintage, plastic, bright neon’s and pattern clashing are all elements that sum up everything that we love about jewellery right now. It’s so totally acceptable to sport humongous Statement rings whileworking in the sombre environment of a library. Anyone regardless of age can in the words of pop’s first lady ‘Express Yourself’.

Yes there is the possibility that we may look back through old images of ourselves ten years’ time from now and think: ‘Gee whizz what were the floral Giraffe shaped brooches all about?’ or ‘Did I dream up those pink rubber earrings? Fashion and Costume jewellery are coming together in exciting new ways. More than ever it’s up to the wearer to consciously think about and be bold enough to choose pieces of jewellery that work for them. Rather than pick pieces that accentuate, fashion now asks them to ‘speak’. Be brave with that Vintage purple gemmed ring in the top drawer and wear it with total pride!

No fashion conscious woman will ever undermine the necessity of a piece of jewelry to accessorize her look. Costume Jewelry has the capability to heighten the fashion quotient of the simplest dresses, or adding a chic look to the casuals that you might choose to sport. Here are 2012’s top 4 trends in jewelry:
1. Brace Yourself For the Blue
2012 will be the year when blue will dominate all fashion trends whether it dresses, accessories, jewelry or make up. Blue in any shade have proven to be hot and emerging by designers around the globe. There is a shade of blue for everyone that will glamourize you beyond imagination. Other softer tones like green, purple and beige, lavender, etc. are also in vogue. Experimenting with colour in jewelry is not for the faint at heart, so if you have the confidence then you will surely be turning some heads this year.
2. Crosses Are Back!

No! You do not have to be an old nun wearing the most boring halloween costume 2012 to flaunt your love for the cross anymore. This will be the year to sport a cross around your neck or on your wrists. You might also want to sport a pair on your earlobes. Whatever might be your area of preference, there is surely a piece of jewelry in the market with crosses on it. This trend has been heavily publicized by designers during 2012’s fashion events. Choose your favourite colour, and go adventurous with the size. There is no dearth of options with crosses available in every imaginable form. Elegant, asymmetrical, large, minute, oversized, et al. Wear it with layering or just one piece at a time, you will surely not go wrong with choosing crosses.
3. Floral Accessories Go Chic
There is no better way to accessorize you than choosing flowers. This is something that is time proven and 2012 promises to deliver on this front by introducing flowers, petals, buds to every imaginable form of jewelry. You can choose the metal and stone of your liking to accessorize them. Whether it’s a petal designed floral engagement ring with diamond studs or a golden flower that you chose as your pendant for the evening, there is no dearth of choices. You can decide to go natural in case you want to accessorize yourself with floral jewelry from simple recycled materials. They offer fashion and elegance without burning a hole in your pocket.
4. Accessorize Your Hair

Hair accessories are one piece of jewelry that has seen an upward trend in the recent years and will reach its pinnacle this year. This is a rather inspiring line of jewelry where designers have tried to incorporate the bridal look to the everyday woman. Brooches, tiaras or simple hairbands are on offer in order to accessorize your hair. You can choose from a wide range of designs sporting simple flowers on hairbands to more gorgeous and retro fashioned tiaras. In case you are in a funky mood you can choose clips and brooches in vibrant colours and bold shapes
and try them over your funky costume wigs to break the monotony.
With all these upcoming fashion trends, 2012 promises to be a delightful year for the accessory addicted woman. Whether you want to look simple and modern, funky and bold or just orthodox and gorgeous, there is a piece available for you.

You look good, but what you really want is to look great, You want the world to say there she goes. You want to make a statement. And for that, you need a really good piece of statement jewellery.
The art of the statement is to say just the right amount. Be too timid and people won’t notice. Your dainty jewellery will be lost in your exciting dress, or your pretty ring lost beside your purple nail varnish. Too much, and you’ll look as though you’ve raided your granny’s dressing up box. But the beauty of a statement piece is that it’s just that, a single style decision which says everything about you, your look and your mood, all on its own.
There’s no doubt about it, some women have mastered the art. Style icons such as Victoria Beckham, Cheryl Cole and Nicole Scherzinger lead the way when it comes to making a statement with their Costume jewellery, as much as with their work, and their clothes. When it comes to statement bracelets, it’s a chance to carry off something really dramatic. Flowers, birds, glitter and shine, you can wrap a great statement piece round your wrist and it will boost your entire outfit. Think of Kim Kardashian’s fabulous choices, layering leather and fabric, steel and stones to create dramatic and unforgettable pieces. Why not collect all your favourite pieces and layer them together for a similar effect?
The ultimate dress needs just one thing, the ultimate necklace. And right at the forefront of the style stakes is the latest addition to the UK’s ‘X Factor’, Tulisa, who really knows where it’s at when it comes to making a big statement. There is nothing new in fashion and those from the past can be revamped. These retro styles, or vintage styling as they are known, are extremely popular even up today. In general terms, anything pre the roaring twenties is described as antique clothing and anything following this is termed as being vintage clothing.
Although some people may find that vintage clothing is not only scarce, it can also be a little costly. However, for those wanting a touch of glamour, these are certainly the kind of clothes to look for. In fact, some careful research through old publications should glean the kind of look that is suitable for any occasion whether it is casual or more formal. Even old movies and photographs can give a clue to how to put this look together.
For the roaring twenties look, flapper styles use strings of beads that hang low on the bodice, or perhaps wrapped around the head a la Princess Diana style. The jewellery collection of Wallace Simpson was the epitome of style with fabulous diamonds and other precious stones wrought into some rather wondrous styles featuring birds, big cats, flowers and abstract designs. These were used for brooches and hair pins, bracelets and rings etc so the more the merrier being worn seemed to be the fashion of that time.
In the 1950s, big movie stars, in all senses of the word, sported full lips and big hair along with enough sensational Costume jewellery to draw attention to themselves. This was glamour at its best and they looked absolutely fabulous for sure.
The 1960s was ablaze with anything psychedelic and this went for fabrics, fake fur, plastic furniture and anything else that was man made thanks to new production methods. Dresses reached dizzying heights and anything went as far as jewellery was concerned. As long as it was bright or shiny enough to attract attention, it was the ‘in’ thing.
Anyone who wants to try out the vintage or retro look will surely be hitting the right note these days as all fashionable people are into this. Today’s rich and famous are all seen at premieres combining any looks that were popular before this current time.
Cheryl Cole, who seems to be a bit of a fashion icon these days, is often seen with oversized vintage jewellery or simple strings of pearls. Crystals feature heavily in her looks and she seems to be emulating such stars as Liz Taylor or Coco Chanel with her style. This is a rather simple but stunning look and she carries it off very well. In the US, entertainers are seen wearing Egyptian style cuffs and oversized gold pieces which look like they came right out of the thirties and forties in the last century. Younger stars in the fashion and music world are favouring the more complex designs in necklaces and these too hark back to styles worn in the fifties.
Everyone will have a favourite era that they want to channel so by adding just a touch of the relevant vintage style, they will not only revisit the past, they will also be bang up to date as well.
Cheryl Cole has been spotted on many occasions wearing her famous Costume Jewellery Ball Drop Earrings. These Earr
ings are perfect if heading out for a night on the tiles or even just to add a bit of spice to your everyday Jean outfit. Cheryl is not the only Celebrity who loves wearing these Ball Drop Earrings, the likes of Beyonce, Eva Longoria and Kylie Minogue to name a few have also been spotted wearing this style.
Although these Ball drop Earrings are still very much in fashion, the current craze of earring seems to be the basketball hoop earring. This is basically a hoop earring with either, charms, crystals, Shamballa style beads or Pandora style beads. The likes of Katy Perry & Rhianna have recently been wearing this style of earring, so if you want to keep up with the latest celebrity earring make sure these styles are your next purchase!
